For my fermentation project I am excited to start making kefir. Kefir is a more healthful drinkable yogurt with amazing probiotic benefits due to the fermented bacteria.
I am going to start with basic whole milk kefir, and I will also try nut milk, and I will try different flavorings like fruit and maple. My intestines are looking forward to reaping the benefits from this project!

Emily,
ReplyDeleteI have also decided to make kefir for my project. I am very excited as well. I already make homemade yogurt using a crockpot and I love it! So I am hoping kefir will be my next adventure that I continue to do as time goes on.
I am going to practice making milk and water kefir, but I have to say nut milk kefir sounds very interesting. I am intrigued by this idea. So I am wonder what kind of nut milk will you use and how will you get it?
Hi Ferne,
ReplyDeleteI am not sure about the logistics about making nut milk kefir because now that I have done some more research I have read that it is the lactose in dairy that produces the desired result. Have you heard this or is it not true? I have had lactose free kefir which is why I originally thought I could make nut milk kefir. How will you make water kefir?
